Over the past few months National Park Authority staff have been developing a network of web cameras capturing both the wildlife and landscape of the National Park. The images below are a selection of landscape shots and by clicking on an image you will be redirected to a live picture showing the current weather situation.
Walltown Crags, Hadrian's Wall (NY669659)
A popular recreational site just north of Haltwhistle with on site tea room (seasonal opening) and facilities. This iconic view of Hadrian's Wall, is being captured by a wireless camera, powered by a solar panel set-up, built by National Park staff.
Winshields Crags, Hadrian's Wall (NY743676)
At 345 metres above sea level Winshields Crags, centre right of this picture, is the highest point on Hadrian's Wall. On a clear day you can see The Cheviot, 36 miles to the north and Cross Fell and the Pennines, 21 miles to the south.
Ingram Valley and the Cheviot Hills (NU043172)
This landscape reveals numerous signs of ancient settlement and human activity. This is hillfort country with Brough Law fort located on the peak, far right of the picture. A traditional picnic spot for families and now a playground for high hill walkers.
